The WVCAC is excited to be working with 7 Arts Councils & communities to launch a really exciting environmental art campaign - Diving In: The Art of Cleaning Lakes and Oceans.

Diving In: The Art of Cleaning Lakes and Oceans is an environmental art campaign that aims to raise awareness of the waste in our lakes & oceans by transforming collected trash into beautiful art. The campaign will be run in collaboration by the Sea to Sky Arts Council Alliance (Pemberton Arts CouncilArts Whistler, the Squamish Arts CouncilLions Bay ArtsThe Hearth Arts on Bowen), West Vancouver Community Arts Council, & North Van Arts. The art council collective will be working with volunteer divers from Divers for Cleaner Lakes and Oceans (DCLO), local artists, & school groups.

Over the next few months Diving In is assembling underwater & shoreline cleanups to help remove the trash from our beautiful lakes & oceans. Artists & school groups will then work to reimagine the trash as beautiful works of art that will then tour galleries from North Vancouver to Pemberton in 2022, including our gallery the Silk Purse!

We'll let you know about upcoming cleanups, events & exhibitions right here.
