  • Silk Purse Arts Centre

Sang Hee Kim is a South Korean-Canadian artist specializing in East Asian, specifically Korean, art through various mediums such as minhwa & traditional black ink, as well as Western-style mediums such as watercolours & oil paints.  This exhibition put a focus on Kim's interpretations of minhwa, a genre of symbolic Korean folk art created by & for the ‘common’ people. Through her art, she aims to show the merging boundaries between Western & Eastern art, challenging the spectator by breaking down preconceived constructs through novel ideas & creative thinking.

Opening reception: Tuesday, June 18th, from 6-8pm
