VOLUNTEER & ART BOX COORDINATOR

The WVCAC is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our staff as the part-time Volunteer & Art Box Coordinator.  This position works directly with volunteers from orientation to scheduling to thank-you events; works directly with local Artisans to procure original items for the Art Box gift store & Holiday Market; & includes working in the gallery.

Working Conditions: 

Part-time in-office position.

12 hours per week; Tuesday, Friday & Saturday afternoons.

Responsibilities:

Volunteer Coordinator:
• 
Assist with volunteer coordination including recruitment, orientation and scheduling;

• Maintain updated Volunteer Manual and volunteer job descriptions;

•  Prepare monthly Volunteer Notes providing an update of exhibitions, events, etc.;

•  Organize Volunteer ‘Information Events’ with Gallery & Events Assistant prior to each art exhibition;

•  Organize and attend Volunteer Thank-you event taking place annually in June;

•  Update volunteer information in Wild Apricot database system.

Art Box Coordinator:

•  Procure and manage the intake of items for the Art Box, our gallery gift store and the Holiday Market;

•  Oversee the display of items working with a volunteer display assistant;

•  Update inventory sheets weekly.

Other

•  Open and close the gallery on Saturdays and some Thursdays;

•  Assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

•  A genuine interest in the arts, culture & community engagement;

•  Knowledge of current trends, resources & information related to volunteerism;

•  Strong interpersonal skills & be comfortable working with a wide age range of volunteers from teens to seniors;

•  Experience working with the public & creating a welcoming, inclusive space for volunteers & visitors;

•  Clear communication skills in writing & in conversation;

•  Effective organizational skills & ability to problem-solve;

•  Computer literacy, comfort using Microsoft Office Suite & ability to learn a new database system (Wild Apricot).

$21 per hour; 12 hours per week over 3 days: Tuesday, f
