Acclaimed British pianist & scholar Michael Aston presents an engaging talk illustrated with musical excerpts, delving into the fascinating life of Winnaretta Singer, heir to the Singer sewing machine fortune & Princesse de Polignac, a major patron of the arts who commissioned works from some of the great 20th century composers.

Discover why & how she became such a prominent figure in the world of music & what is was like for composers trying to carve out a career in the early 20th century.

Aston will exquisitely perform a selection of music Singer commissioned, immersing us in this thrilling & eye-opening story of a woman determined to leave a mark on the world through music.
