About Touchstones:

Artists Somayeh Fanaei, Alejandra Morales & Seoul Kim recontextualize traditional motifs, imagery & conventions from their respective cultures & countries of origin, to explore themes of identity & perception while creating connection their communities & wider world.

Somayeh Fanaei renders in pastel, beautiful portraits & still lifes using the colours & patterns of traditional Persian carpets as a recurring theme.

Alejandra Morales depicts colourful fruits & fabrics common in Mexico in vibrant & energetic acrylic & oil paintings.

Seoul Kim embraces the Koren folk art form of Minhwa, capturing florals in bright colours & elegant lines with ink & watercolour on rice paper.
