Are you an Arts organization tired of missing your fundraising goals?

Good intentions don't fund missions—proven strategies do. Join our upcoming Finding Funds in Uncertain Times workshop & walk away with a demystified grant & fundraising process. Learn how to turn your project ideas into winning proposals.

West Vancouver Community Arts Council, with the support of the District of West Vancouver, has invited workshop facilitators Mirna Zagar & Brenda Leadlay, renowned arts leaders & seasoned fundraisers, to share their knowledge and inspire you to:

    • Align your mission with funder priorities
    • Transform your passion into funding
    • Master the art of the ask
    • Uncover hidden & lesser-known places to look for funding

    Facilitators

Mirna Zagar, the Executive Director of The Dance Centre in Vancouver, has championed British Columbia’s dance community, developing programs, opportunities & international connections that support artists & strengthen the field. She was integral to the development of the unique dance facility (Scotiabank Dance Centre) that has become a vibrant cultural hub in Vancouver – an investment of $12 million boasting seven studios including a 150-seat theatre, offices & other amenities & instrumental in securing $6 million for the Dance Foundation to purchase the land for the building, preserving it for posterity.

Brenda Leadlay’s professional theatre career spans 40 years as an actor, co-creator, director, dramaturge, educator & producer. She is the former executive director of the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture & the visionary artistic executive director of the Magnetic North Theatre Festival at the National Arts Centre. She was also the artistic director of Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver & the founder of the Chutzpah! Festival. Currently, Brenda is inspired to work with The Only Animal to mobilize Canadian artists for climate action.

We look forward to collaborating, imagining & advocating for a shared future for the arts on the North Shore.
