COVID-19 Update

Dear Members, artists, supporters and friends,

In light of the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation, and our commitment to the well-being of our artists, patrons, volunteers, and staff, the WVCAC's headquarters The Silk Purse Arts Centre, will be closed and our onsite programming cancelled until further notice. We have shifted our Arts and Culture programming online with exciting new exhibitions and events.

Participants in rentals at the Silk Purse are encouraged to contact the event organizer/renter regarding cancellations.

The safety of our artists, patrons, volunteers and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and as such we are monitoring the situation closely and will look to the Public Health Agency of Canada and Healthlink BC for recommendations, guidance, and direction.

We would like to share with you the official statement from the District of West Vancouver regarding District-run public facilities so that you may stay informed:

Effective Monday, March 16, at 8 p.m., the District of West Vancouver will be closing until further notice all District-run public facilities except Municipal Hall, the West Vancouver Police Station, all Fire Halls, the Operations Centre and the Capilano View Cemetery. The closures will include all West Vancouver community centres and cultural facilities.

Please visit westvancouver.ca/covid for West Vancouver's updates regarding Coronavirus and links to health agencies’ websites.

The arts are critical to the health & vitality of our community. In these challenging times, your support of our organization & the arts is more important than ever. We appreciate your patience & understanding and will keep you updated on our scheduling and operations.

Be well and take care of each other,

The West Vancouver Community Arts Council
