Eco-Art Workshop for Teens with Elizabeth Nankin

Ages: 13 and up

Join an eco-art workshop where you will create a scene, character or artistic statement from recycled materials with experienced artist, Elizabeth Nankin. She is one of 11 artists participating in making beautiful art from trash & ocean debris in the traveling exhibition Diving In: The Art of Cleaning Lakes and Oceans.

Elizabeth is happy to share her philosophy & invite participants into her art making process while they create their own projects. Learn how this professional artist constructs her projects, what tools she uses & her ideation process. 

Through open dialogue & idea sharing with Elizabeth & other participants, use your imagination to transform everyday trash into unique works of art.

All materials provided.

Participants are recommended to wear a mask.

Artist Bio

Elizabeth Nankin is an interdisciplinary artist, active for over 40 years. Her background is in costume design for film & theatre. Elizabeth currently works in puppetry, discovering new ways of storytelling. 

In the past 25 years she has created art curriculum in schools & worked with students of all ages. 

Elizabeth has also created shadow puppet films that have blended her two worlds, costume design & puppeteering. 

Elizabeth Nankin is currently one of 11 artists participating in Diving In: The Art of Cleaning Lakes and Oceans, a travelling exhibition featuring artwork created from trash recovered from local shorelines to raise awareness about cleaning our waterways. This current project is the debut gallery show for Elizabeth, though her work has been seen by the public in theatres & cinemas for years.
