Join us for an inspiring presentation & discussion on two artists' journeys as creatives & their work's connection to their cultural heritage.

Merging Boundaries explores traditional & contemporary Korean art & music through the eyes of two Korean-Canadian artists, painter Sang Hee Kim & concert pianist Hey-Jung Oh. This afternoon the artists will explore dialogues between their respective art forms & how the evolution of each tradition has influenced their evolution as artists.

Sang Hee Kim is a South Korean-Canadian artist specializing in East Asian, specifically Korean art through various forms such as minhwa & traditional black ink, as well as more Western-style mediums such as watercolours & oil paints. Kim's work is currently on display in Sonata of Life in the Silk Purse Gallery.

Hey-Jung Oh is an accomplished concert pianist, instructor & choir director. She has performed as a soloist & in ensembles in in Canada, Korea, Japan, the USA & across Europe. Oh's repertoire includes traditional & contemporary Korean Music as well as Western classical & pop music.
