Luke Welch

Award-winning Toronto pianist Luke Welch joins us for a thrilling concert on his national tour in support of his new album Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Paino Works. He has performed extensively across Canada, the US, Europe & New Zealand. Welch is also a sought after interdisciplinary collaborative pianist, having worked with the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, the National Ballet of Canada & more. 

Today Welch performs music by famed English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. A self-described ‘Anglo-African’, Coleridge-Taylor was a leading composer of the early 20th century whose music had a profound impact in Europe & in the US, inspiring not only the next generation of Black classical musicians & composers but artists through to today. Welch approaches this music with his signature energy & virtuosity.

This extraordinary programme will be performed at 10:30 am & 1:30 pm.
