'After the Bloom is Gone'

Janna Kumi

'Purple Explosion'

Sonia Mocnik

'Lighthouse Park'

Sara Wiens

Four artists with deep connections to the North Shore illustrate & illuminate micro & macro perspectives on the natural world around us in their distinct styles & varied media.

Janna Kumi meticulously renders micro-level portraits of bark on branches, trees & logs in graphite & coloured pencil with striking clarity & a limited colour palette.

Sonia Mocnik presents a series of expressive & vibrant watercolour studies of Oregon Grape plants that grow around the Silk Purse, capturing their changes over the course of a year.

Sara Wiens has created vivid oil paintings of rocky shorelines, abstracted to illustrate the interplay of light, texture & shape.

Arabella Young captures the essence of local forests, shorelines & wetlands in oil paint & pastels through expressive colour, gestural mark making & enveloping compositions.
