Alderwood Ensemble

The Alderwood Ensemble’s mission is to make classical chamber music accessible to all audiences. The collaborative ensemble brings together highly regarded professional musicians from the greater Vancouver area with a broad experience playing symphonic, opera, chamber, solo & pops genres. Like their namesake, the Alder tree, the Alderwood Ensemble incorporates resilience & flexibility in their playing & programming.

This program juxtaposes the work of Juno-nominated Cree-Mennonite cellist & composer, Cris Derksen with the piece White Man's Cattle & Bohemian composer Antonin Dvorak’s String Quintet Op. 77 with the dedication “To My Nation”.

The Alderwood Ensemble includes Naomi Guy, violin; Sunny She, violin; Tawnya Popoff, viola; & Meaghan Williams, double bass; & Jonathon Lo, cello.

This extraordinary programme will be performed at 10:30 am & 1:30 pm.
